3 Basic Exercises You Can Do With the Resistance Band

These days, many people choose to increase muscle tone over increasing muscle mass. People often use this approach to lose weight because it leads to an effective and toned body. This is one of the reasons why yoga, Zumba, pole dancing, Pilates, and similar exercise programs have become so popular these days. Aerobic training certainly helps you lose weight, but building muscle means you burn more calories at rest.

The Band Resistance Training is portable and convenient for achieving toned muscles. Below are some basic exercises you can do with the best resistance band set.

1. Chest Press

Wrap the band around a sturdy object such as a pole or door handle. Next, grip the band’s handle and place your palms facing each other. Create a sense of tension by taking a few steps forward. Pass the band along the inside of your arm and place it under your armpit. Gradually push yourself forward and move forward. Repeat the entire process. Always use controlled movements.

2.  Bicep Curl

First, place your foot in the center of the band and grip the handle. To increase the difficulty, widen your stance, slowly bend your elbows, and draw your hands toward your shoulders. Release and repeat. Do this exercise consistently and you will quickly strengthen your biceps.

3.  One Arm Reverse Fly

Start by stepping on one end of the band with your foot. Grasp the other end with one hand and slowly bend forward. Now, lean forward to about a 45-degree angle, make sure your back is straight and your abdominal muscles tight. Ensure that your elbows are slightly bent to hold the band in a fixed position. To perform this exercise, pull your arms back until your shoulder blades touch. Then return to the original position and repeat this process.

The two-handed version can be played by holding both handles and stepping on the middle part of the band. These are just a few simple but practical upper body exercises using resistance bands. When done correctly, this form of training provides the same muscle-building effects that you get from strength training.

Band resistance training is also easy and enjoyable for anyone, regardless of fitness level or gender. If you don't like hand weights, you can use the Total Body Bar Heavy Resistance Set.
